Former Arsenal legend Paul Merson has voiced his criticism of Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino,
suggesting that the Argentine is struggling to determine his best team at the club. Merson drew parallels
between Pochettino’s situation and the challenges faced by previous Chelsea managers, including
Graham Potter and Frank Lampard, during their respective tenures at Stamford Bridge.
Pochettino’s Chelsea side has encountered difficulties in the current season, currently occupying the 14th
position on the Premier League table. Their recent home loss to Aston Villa has added to their woes.
Merson highlighted Chelsea’s limited success in terms of victories in recent matches, pointing out that
they have only won three out of 21 games. He emphasized that Pochettino’s inability to identify his best
lineup is akin to the challenges faced by previous managers, resulting in frequent changes in the squad.
The criticism from Merson underscores the importance of team cohesion and stability in the quest for
