The Nigerian creative sector has had enormous growth that has surpassed being the best in Africa. Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Rema, and Tems, among others, have all contributed to the Nigerian music industry’s ability to compete on a worldwide scale.

The business has experienced significant success in just five months in 2023, with Tiwa Savage playing at King Charles III’s coronation and Rema embarking on an Indian music tour.

Nigerians have the right to boast about being the best in Africa and the world thanks to the creative sector. Nigeria’s creative sector has experienced tremendous expansion, which has allowed some of the nation’s well-known performers to cancel international performances—a feat that would have been challenging decades before.

Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Rema, Tems, and even newbie Asake have all made contributions to bringing attention to Nigerian and African music.

Burna Boy and Wizkid now seamlessly headline big stadiums and close down world-class arenas like the O2 Arena in the UK, the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and the State Farm Arena.

Another triumph for Nigeria’s creative sector would be Burna Boy’s performance at the Uefa Champions League final in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2023.

The greatest gaming convention in the world was canceled by Wizkid in Saudi Arabia in 2022. The pair are among the most sought-after musicians in the world and have favorably impacted Afrobeat on a global scale.

By striking agreements with well-known international corporate bodies, Davido, the head of the DMW label, has also significantly contributed to the expansion of Afrobaeat.

Davido has contracts with the sportswear company PUMA, the cognac company Martell, and was most recently on the cover of Forbes Africa.
OBO, one of the most well-known Nigerian musicians, also performed in the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar.

Afrobeats queen is also included.

Tiwa Savage is a well-known female singer from Nigeria, as seen by her performance during King Charles III’s recent coronation. A honorary degree was also awarded to her by Kent University in the UK.

Rema, a Mavin signee, has experienced astounding progress in the music business and is now regarded as a global singer. Rema’s collaboration with Selena Gomez for the song “Calm Down” helped him become more well-known on the global music scene.

Rema recently shut down India during a three-day tour, breaking several previous records in the process.

Tems is another internationally recognized Nigerian artist. Tems won a Grammy earlier this year, making history as the first female Afrobeats performer.

In addition to her music, Tems has been attracting attention abroad with her elegant appearances at prestigious events like the Met Gala.

Newcomer Asake, who is signed to Olamide’s YBNL label record, is deserving of note. The singer, who gained notoriety in 2022, quickly sold out the 02 Academy in the UK.

Asake won’t stop there; they also have plans to close the 02 Arena in 2023. The work of these musicians has helped Nigeria’s creative sector flourish and remain a source of pride and hope for many Nigerians.
