Nigerian singer and owner of Marlian Records, Naira Marley, has refuted claims that he signed DJ
Splash to his record label. Naira Marley has faced various allegations and controversies following the
tragic death of his former signee, Mohbad.
The investigation into Mohbad’s death has generated questions and allegations from Nigerians, with
some suggesting that DJ Splash, an alleged associate of Marlian Music, experienced mental health
challenges after consuming substances given to him by the Marlian team.
In response to these allegations, Naira Marley clarified during an interview with Reno Omokri that DJ
Splash was never officially signed to Marlian Music. He acknowledged knowing DJ Splash as a DJ but
emphasized that he had never deejayed at his shows or events. Naira Marley attributed the confusion to
a picture they had together and stated that DJ Splash was no longer associated with him when he faced
his personal challenges.
Naira Marley’s statement seeks to clarify the relationship between DJ Splash and Marlian Records amid
the ongoing controversy.
