Inter Miami forward, Lionel Messi, has revealed that he felt disrespected by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)

after securing victory for Argentina in the 2022 World Cup. The Argentina national team captain led his

country to triumph in Qatar last year, an achievement that usually brings recognition from players’

respective clubs.

However, Messi expressed his disappointment in an interview with ESPN Argentina, stating, “I was the

only player among the 25 who didn’t receive [club] recognition.” He went on to explain, “It was

understandable … because of us [Argentina], they [France] didn’t retain the World Cup.”

It’s worth noting that Messi’s comments highlight his sense of being undervalued by PSG, despite his

outstanding contributions on the international stage. Messi recently left PSG after his contract with the

club came to an end.
