Davido, the multi-award-winning Afrobeats singer who is more commonly referred to as Davido, has spoken about Drake. Drake was instrumental in bringing Afrobeats to the attention of the entire world.
He stated that the Canadian rapper Drake played a role in bringing attention to Afrobeats.
In an interview that was published on Tuesday with the Bootleg Kev Podcast, Davido made this statement while responding to questions.
He stated, “There are always narratives like, “Oh, Afrobeats was definitely huge before Drake,” but Drake is Drake, so I would be lying if I said he didn’t highlight Afrobeats, and you know it was dope.”
“He has made some idiot records,” the vocalist added.
Drake has highlighted in a couple of Afrobeat melodies, some of which are Wikzid’s ‘drawn nearer’ and ‘Ojuelegba remix’ including Tems’ Wellsprings.
