We Will Take Fight Against Corruption To The Next Level – EFCC Chairman

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has said he would take fight against corruption to a subsequent level.

He said this during his visit to Ibadan and Ilorin offices of the commission. during a statement signed by Mr Wilson Uwujaren, Head, Media and Publicity, he quoted the anti corruption boss as saying he would digitalize all the processes of the Commission.

During the visit to Ibadan office, he charged the staff of the commission to be hardworking and dedicated to work as Nigerians are looking up to them for fulfillment within the fight against corruption.

According to him, “as the old saying goes, the eagle is now within the hands of the EFCC but the mission and therefore the vision of the Commission remain an equivalent. Therefore, I urge you to be committed to your job. Always do what’s right and guard against wrongdoing.”

The anti-corruption czar who described his visit to the Zone as homecoming of sorts, having previously served as head of the Zone in his illustrious career, thanked staff of the zone for his or her support and prayers since he emerged as Executive Chairman.

“The Ibadan zonal office is one among the offices I really like. I hope you’ll maintain it and get on top of your game. If the story of my life isn’t an idea to you as officers, nothing will. I would like you to hitch me to steer the ship to a different level”, he said.

He assured that officers of the Commission are going to be exposed to new training opportunities to stay them au courant changing trends within the fight against corruption.

At the Ilorin zonal office, he called on staff of the commission to rededicate themselves to the task of riding the country of corruption through proactive and intelligence-driven investigation with strict adherence to the rule of law.

According to him, “We are getting to digitalize our processes, and that we have created a replacement Directorate of intelligence to enable us to gather intelligence so that we’ll be proactive in our fight against economic and financial crimes; and by so doing, we’ll also provide the govt with necessary quality advice which will cause good governance”

He urged the staff to form discipline and professionalism their watchword, noting that the commission under his watch would spare no effort in redeeming the country’s battered image and set it back on the trail of sustainable growth and development.

“I’m here to remind you that we have got an enormous task before us, which is to fight economic and financial crimes within the country. it’s employment you and that I have signed to try to to. we have got a requirement to rid this country of corruption.”

We’ll certainly take the fight to a subsequent level. Let me tell you, the govt has such a lot of confidence in us (EFCC) and therefore the world at large is watching us. We cannot afford to allow them to down”.

The anti-graft czar also expressed his desire “to strengthen the Commission’s synergy with other enforcement organizations, both nationally and internationally to make sure that there’s no topographic point for criminals in our society. He noted that the work of fighting economic and financial crimes is for everyone to get on board, and speak with one voice against the menace.

Earlier, Usman Muktar, Zonal Head, Ilorin Office of EFCC, appreciated the Chairman for his visit and guaranteed him the commitment of the staff of the zone towards upholding the ideals of the Commission.
