If anyone reading this is a Tottenham fan I apologise, but it is very hard to ignore the fact that Tottenham has underachieved domestically and in Europe.
Tottenham is not a bad club at all. This is demonstrated by the fact that they are among the top 6 clubs in England. They have had incredible players over the years such as Gareth Bale, Harry Kane, Jimmy Greaves, Paul Gascoigne, Glenn Hoddle, Sol Campbell, Luka Modric, Gary Linekar, Ledly king and so many others.
But despite having so many good players they have done so little. In 2018, Tottenham played Juventus in the Champions League. In Turin, it was a 2–2 draw with Tottenham leading on away goals. However, in the second leg, they lost 2–1. Defender Giorgio Chiellini said after the game, “its the history of the Tottenham”. Sadly, it is they always miss something to win. After a brilliant comeback against Ajax in the Champions League semi-final, they lost to Liverpool.
Tottenham have never won the Premier League in their history and the last time they won a league title was back in 1961. To put that in perspective Arsene Wenger was 12 years old when they won it.
To conclude, Tottenham Hotspur have definitely underachieved and are one of the biggest underachievers in European football.
