On Monday night, President Muhammadu Buhari signed the proclamation order regarding the general
management of COVID-19 in Lagos, Ogun, and Kano States.
Earlier, Buhari had announced the easing of the lockdown in Abuja, Lagos, and Ogun States, with the
effective date being May 4.
This development was communicated through a statement released by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser
to the President on Media and Publicity, on Monday night.
“President Muhammadu Buhari signed the Proclamation Order on the General Management of Covid-19
in Lagos, Ogun, Kano, the Federal Capital Territory, and other states in Nigeria, as outlined in his
national broadcast on April 27, 2020. This action was taken in accordance with the authority vested in
him by Section 3 of the Quarantine Act, CAP Q2 Laws of the Federation 2004, and all the powers granted
to him therein.”
