The Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State has stated that Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, maybe a well-respected man and thus has the liberty to accompany whomever he chooses or attend any function he wishes to.
This came against the background of the recent visit by Fani-Kayode to all or any Progressives Congress bigwigs, including the party’s national caretaker chairman, Mai Mala Buni.
The PDP said it had been set to receive any official report regarding any plan by the Fani-Kayode to defect to APC.
The State PDP Publicity Secretary, Sydney Tambari, stated this during a telephone chat without correspondent on Tuesday.
Lombardi said, “As a celebration, we’ve many leaders. Fani-Kayode is one man we respect as a stakeholder but he equally has the liberty of association to go to whomever he wants to go to or attend anybody’s function he likes to attend.
“That isn’t bothering us as a celebration because for now, we’ve not gotten any official report that he’s defecting or has defected.
“By the time that happens, the party is going to be ready to know what to mention. except, for now, I feel he has the freedom and therefore the freedom to associate visit, hobnob with whomever he wishes to try to do that with without us questioning him.”
