Barcelona has an “agreement in place” to sign Sergio Aguero from Manchester City on a free transfer.
According to AS, a deal is known to be “very close”.
New Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, has agreed to sanction a two-year contract for Aguero, which can run until June 2023.
Aguero’s contract at the Etihad expires this summer, meaning clubs outside England could start negotiating with the player from January.
It is believed the sole reason the contract has not been signed, is because although Laporta is thanks to becoming president, Carles Tusquets is in interim charge.
Barca has already snapped up promising Man city center half Eric Garcia, 20, on a five-year contract, also a free transfer.
